Recommended Fabrics and Fit Description

The Gardenia Dress is designed to be fitted from bust to waist and flow out from just below the hip. All 4 hem lengths, maxi, above the knee, tunic, and top, are designed for summer comfort and coolness. Lightweight fabrics with minimal structure and a lot of drape are a must to allow the godet panels and cold shoulder flutter sleeves to lay nicely on the body.

Some KNIT fabrics that work really well are Double Brushed Polyester, Bamboo Lycra, Rayon Spandex, Cotton Modal, Athletic Knit, and any lightweight cotton or synthetic knit blends. Custom Cotton Lycra may have enough stretch, but is often found to be too structured and stiff for the drape needed in this dress design.

Recommended Fabrics and Fit Description

The Violet Loungers are designed to fit like a semi slim fit jogger. They are a relaxed, but not too baggy, fit all over and can be worn around the house, out for a workout, or even around town with the right fabric choice! The straight leg option is semi fitted from hip to knee, with a slim straight leg beginning at the knee.

Some fabrics that work really well are French Terry, Double Brushed Polyester, and Athletic Knit. Some of our testers had fun making them for office wear with Ponte and Liverpool! Others opted for a slinkier look with rayon spandex and heels for date night!

**The Daisy can be made with WOVEN or KNIT fabric! No stretch required. 

The Daisy Shrug is a very loose fit, flowy half sleeve cardigan. Fabric that is lightweight and flowy will give the most sophisticated results. More structured fabrics will be too stiff and prevent movement and flow.

Have fun with your fabric choice! Think French terry, lace, mesh, double brushed polyester, or anything with a pretty drape! You can fudge a little on the required stretch if you make sure your arm hole is large enough to fit with less than the required stretch.

The Lupine Leggings are designed to fit like athletic wear.  They have negative ease and hug the body to stay in place even during the toughest workouts! Whether wearing out on the town with a cute tunic, or on a grueling run, these leggings stay put.

Some fabrics that work really well are Athletic Knit, Swim Knit, Double Brushed Polyester, and fabric blends with a high percentage of spandex.  **Cotton Lycra is often too structured, or does not have enough stretch in both directions to make it a suitable choice. Some testers found they needed to ‘size up’ when using this type of fabric.

Relaxed fit skirt with ALL the options!  Not quite as snug as a pencil skirt, but slimmer than an A Line skirt. Knee length hem hits just above the knee, but can be shorter with the drawstring sides option.

Recommended Fabrics: Knit Fabric with AT LEAST 15%-25% stretch width wise. Some of our favorite fabrics tested were French Terry, Stretch Twill, Stretch Denim, Ponte, Scuba, Liverpool, Rayon Spandex, Brushed Polyester, and Cotton Lycra. Our testers found that the fabric suggestions with more drape worked better for the Maxi and Drawstring options. Fabrics with a little more structure worked best for the Panel skirt option.

For the best fit, try French Terry, Sweater Knit, Double Brushed Polyester, Modal, ITY, or Rayon Spandex! Our testers found the fabrics with a little structure worked great for the jacket option, while fabrics with more drape-think light sweater knit-worked well for the longer options.

Some fabrics that work well are Rayon Challis, Cotton Lawn, Flannel, Double Gauze, and any light weight woven. **Although designed for woven, stable stretch fabrics like French Terry are also a great choice!

Recommended Fabrics and Fit Description

The Camas Coatigan has enough ease to handle even the thickest of woven and knit fabrics. It features a dropped, easy fit sleeve that can be hemmed or cuffed, along with lots of fun pocket options, two band widths and two hem lengths. Some of our favorite fabrics in testing were thick flannel, Sherpa, super plush minky, stretch twill, and even denim! French Terry and Ponte knits were also great options that made a more flowy, lighter weight coatigan.

Required stretch

The Camas Coatigan can be made in woven or knit fabrics. **The amount of stretch will greatly affect the fit of a garment. You may want to make a muslin first and size down if using a fabric that is very stretchy.

Recommended Fabrics and Fit Description

The Violet Loungers are designed to fit like a semi slim fit jogger. They are a relaxed, but not too baggy, fit all over and can be worn around the house, out for a workout, or even around town with the right fabric choice! The straight leg option is semi fitted from hip to knee, with a slim straight leg beginning at the knee.

Some fabrics that work really well are French Terry, Double Brushed Polyester, and Athletic Knit.

The Briar Pants are a wide leg, flowy, super relaxed fit pant. They are equally perfect as dressy pants fit for the office or pajama pants perfect for lounging at home. There are so many great ways these can be styled!

Some fabrics that work well are Rayon Challis, Cotton Lawn, Flannel, Double Gauze, and any light weight woven. **Although designed for woven, stable stretch fabrics like French Terry are also a great choice!

Recommended Fabrics and Fit Description

The Gardenia Dress is designed to be fitted from bust to waist and flow out from just below the hip. All 4 hem lengths, maxi, above the knee, tunic, and top, are designed for summer comfort and coolness. Lightweight fabrics with minimal structure and a lot of drape are a must to allow the godet panels and cold shoulder flutter sleeves to lay nicely on the body.

Some KNIT fabrics that work really well are Double Brushed Polyester, Bamboo Lycra, Rayon Spandex, Cotton Modal, Athletic Knit, and any lightweight cotton or synthetic knit blends. Custom Cotton Lycra may have enough stretch, but is often found to be too structured and stiff for the drape needed in this dress design.
